English 112: Search Basics

Search Basics

You have probably heard the term "Boolean searching" in other classes. For this assignment, we are going to focus on putting phrases that we want to search for in quotation marks.

Using quotation marks around "united states" will give me results that include the exact phrase United States.

You can use quotation marks to find information about authors for your assignment. The search below will give me results that include the exact phrase Ralph Ellison.

You can also use quotation marks to find information about novels for your assignment. The search below will give me results that include the exact phrase Invisible Man.
