Did you know our databases have translation features?

Need help reading the academic journal articles you need for your coursework? Many of our databases have translation features that can assist with reading comprehension. The above tabs feature step-by-step images on activating translation tools. To use Gale's translation tools, click on the first menu button under the black line, shown below, circled in red.

Click on the drop-down box labeled "Translate Article" and choose your language. Click on the drop-down box labeled "Translate Article" and choose your language.
The translation tool will immediately provide a preview of the translation. Please note--Translation accuracy is not guaranteed. The translation tool is a computer generated process, and may include errors. Click "Complete Translation" to finish the process. The text should now be in your chosen language. 
If you need to revert the translation back to English, click the "Back to Original Language" button. 

Unfortunately, the translation tool is only available on HTML formatted results, so keep a lookout for the "Online full text" option in your search results. You can check the format choices by clicking on the "Access options" dropdown menu. You can access that same dropdown menu if you click on the article title. 


Once you have opened the HTML version of the article, click on the globe icon in righthand menu. This will open the translation menu. Use the dropdown menu "Choose Language" to select the language you wish to read in. The translation will automatically generate.

Please note: This translation was produced by an automatic translation program and is intended to be representative of the content in the original article. The program cannot be guaranteed to produce a completely accurate translation. If you need to revert the translation back to English, click the "Original Language" button.  

To use Issue & Controversies' translation tools, click on the last menu item, circled in red below. 

Select your language.

The translation tool will need a moment to generate the translation. Please note--Translation accuracy is not guaranteed. The translation tool is a computer generated process, and may include errors. To revert the article language back into English, choose the translation feature again, and click English.
